Service Description: This map depicts the NOAA Fisheries general ESU/DPS boundaries under the U.S. Endangered Species Act, as well as the historical population structure of the species. These boundaries represent the freshwater spawning areas occupied currently and historically. Only the accessible areas constitute the defined ESU/DPS boundary. The ESU/DPS boundaries were combined with watershed boundaries to show the current extent and historical range for each salmon river highlighted in the 'State of Salmon in California' website.
